Shear Delight

We had the fun experience of getting double haircuts this afternoon. This was one of many for Hunter, but Leigh's first ever. She didn't seem to mind at all, although she went through 5 suckers during the 10-minute clipping session. Hunter was as thrilled as usual to be coiffed.

Date Night

This week Mommy & Hunter had a special date night. We drove to Charlotte and had dinner at a fancy restaurant, and then went to see American Idol on Tour! Hunter fought hard to stay awake to see his favorite Idol, David Cook, sing at 10 pm. Then it was off to his very favorite hotel, the Embassy Suites, for watching a little of the Olympics and some much-needed slumber.

Smiles for Serpil

For Serpil's birthday this week, we decided to take a picture of all 4 kids wearing the shirts that she painted for them. We finally managed to get a few good ones, after about 163 unsuccessful takes...

Tour De France?

Our excitement of this week was watching Hunter ride his bicycle for the first time without training wheels! Once he got the hang of it, he couldn't be stopped...despite the little ones trying their best to catch up with him.

Hail To The Chief

After a long week at Duke, we're all very happy & grateful that the Chief is home tonight and feeling quite well. Before discharge, however, we managed to sneak Hunter & Leigh up to the cardiac floor for a short visit. Hunter was fascinated with Grandaddy's "scratch" (ie, incision), while Baby Leigh had a big time playing on Grandaddy's special hospital bed.

The Homecomings

Yesterday, our best buddies finally came home from their very long trip to Michigan to see Grandma and Grandpa. After a week of watching Curious George and eating goldfish on the couch, we were thrilled for our friends to be back!

Meanwhile--after a very long week with Grandaddy in the hospital and some sleepless nights--Nanny came back to our house for a short nap and a little R&R. Although she didn't get either one, I don't think she was disappointed.

Icing, Nemo, and Napkin Rings

Birthdays are a blast for the kids. Afterall, on what other occasion can you get your fill of lard icing, eat Nemo cupcakes, and make glasses from napkin rings?!?

Strike Up The Band

Since I've not been much of a cook this week, we treated ourselves to dinner at Cheesecake Factory and then a little fun at the mall. After Baby Leigh's extreme wiggling through dinner, we all needed to work off a little steam outside with the fountain and the duck band leader.

All Creatures Great and Small

All of us--including Masson--had a ball playing with Rebecca's new puppy, Ruby, this weekend.
