Happy Birthday, Aunt Lynn!

We had a great time celebrating Aunt Lynn's birthday last night. As always, Hunter & Leigh had loads of fun playing with their cousins, and as always, we had loads of fun drinking wine and eating Nanny's filets. Surrounded by the people who love her most, I think Aunt Lynn had a wonderful birthday. Although Leigh really liked this birthday balloon, I think Aunt Lynn liked the Yoda Birthday balloon from Hunter a little better since it didn't sing out Happy Birthday, compliments of the Disney princesses.

Hunter decided Aunt Lynn would like some roses, so he picked these out just for her.

Alone with Makeup

While I was focusing on some kitchen chores the other day, Leigh decided to give herself a makeover with the eye shadow in her plastic princess ring. I think there's definitely a future in the cosmetic business here.

St. Paddy's Day

We celebrated St. Patrick's Day last week with green spaghetti and asparagus, big hats, and clover confetti. The kids have no idea what St. Paddy's Day is all about--nor do I, for that matter---but we all knew it was a good enough reason to have a party and eat cupcakes with green icing.

...and yes, that is green soy milk Hunter is drinking. Magically Delicious.

Wacky Weather

We have had some unpredictable weather this month. This past weekend, it rained nonstop for 72 hours. Daddy-O entertained the kids for a few minutes on the tractor, but most of our time was spent watching The Little Mermaid and The Incredibles, both of which we have seen 100+ times.

Last weekend was a completely different story. Sunny and 80 degrees, we enjoyed a picnic with Nanny & Grandaddy at a nearby park in Burlington.

And just a few days prior, we woke up to snow & ice! We made it to Nanny & Grandaddy's house, where the kids had their first encounter with sledding. They both LOVED it.

Toy Story Midway Mania!

On of the newer rides and most popular attractions at Hollywood Studios these days is Toy Story Midway Mania. We tried our best to get to the park early enough to get Fast Passes, but failed miserably both times. SO, we all waited in line nearly 2 hours for this ride...and believe it or not, it was worth it. To the Imagineers' credit, the wait itself was so entertaining that the Fab Four didn't mind at all.

Animal Kingdom

Our day at the Animal Kingdom started off with a little inclement weather...
Not to be outdone by the clouds, however, we sported our $7 stylish-yet-functional ponchos and went about our Disney business as if the sun were shining. Leigh even fell asleep in the stroller during one of the downpours.

Despite multiple attempts to get a great picture of the kids in the matching shirts that Deane bought them, we realized it wasn't going to happen. This was about the best we could do.

Everyone, & I mean everyone, had a great time at the Dinosaur Playground.

Cameron managed to steal a kiss from Pocahontas, or more realistically, Michelle-Kwan-A-Hontas, per Mr. Dave.

Hooray for Hollywood!

We all loved Hollywood Studios so much during our Disneyworld adventure that we went there twice during the week.

Cameron & Hunter reluctantly agreed to pose as Superheroes for a photo op while waiting in line for The Great Movie Ride.

The girls--myself included--absolutely loved The Beauty and the Beast show. In fact, Leigh cried when it was over, sobbing "want to see Belle again."

Although they were good sports, our male Theater Buffs were not into the showtunes quite as much as the girls.

One of the highlights of the afternoon was the Pixar Parade, where the kids were awestruck at their favorite movie stars--Woody & Buzz, Jesse, Boo, Sully & Mike, and The Incredibles!

The Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground was another big hit. It was so intensely crowded, however, that this was more like the Honey I Need My Xanax playground for this Mama Bear.
