One Great Day

Today was one of those days I wish I could relive again and again. After spending the day with our buddies at the Wet & Wild waterpark in Greensboro, we spent the evening with our family & friends at Uncle Billy's & Aunt Susie's newest Party House in their back yard. With swings & wine & hot dogs & tiki torches & the people you love, it just doesn't get any better than this.

Just One Good Picture, Guys

All I wanted was one good picture under the Great Wolf Lodge sign between the 2 black bears...but instead, I got
Pouty
Goofy
Silly
Mouth-covering
Bear-Teasing
Butt-Flashing
Giggling
and Bear Nose-Picking
before one decent shot.

Howl If You Love Wolf Lodge

Last weekend, as a Last Hurrah before the start of kindergarten, we took the kids to the Great Wolf Lodge in Concord.

Before the real fun started, we managed to get steal some good photo ops with the shiny black bears around the lodge.

Later that night, Leigh & I caught the Story Time put on by this cast of animals and talking trees... ...while Daddy & Hunter got busy in the arcade playing skee ball and dodging giant tarantulas in fake cars.

Chad and I were amazed at how much fine merchandise 157 arcade tickets will buy.
The indoor waterpark was the biggest attraction, but before hopping on any waterslide, Hunter & Leigh had to see how they measured up to the baby wolf. Hunter was just about a half inch shy of being tall enough for all the slides at the park.

Hopping across the lily pads in the pool--with a little help from Papa Frog--was huge fun for all of us.

By the time we left the next day, we were some exhausted wolves...

but not too tired to

First Day of Kindergarten

Today was the first day of kindergarten for Hunter. Since Trinity is a new school for us, it was a big day for Hunter. And since this is my little buddy starting real school, it was a big day for Mama Bear.
Daddy surprised Hunter and showed up to pick him up at school. Although looking a little shell-shocked in this picture, he said he had a great day and seemed plenty happy about the whole experience. Now let's see if we can get Leigh adjusted in preschool...

Nanny's Pool

This weekend, the kids discovered that Nanny's pool has some really fun toys attached to it, like a diving board and a big yellow tube slide.
Hunter thought he was All That jumping off the diving board into the 10-ft-deep water. The judges gave him an 8.5 on this dive, since his form was a little off.

Meanwhile, Little Miss Frog Floatie kept Nanny busy catching her through the yellow tube-slide.
