White Christmas

We woke up after Christmas night to this sight out Nanny's front door.

It didn't take long for us to get suited up to enjoy some sledding and snowball fights outside with our girl cousins.

Later that day, Leigh got busy performing a makeover on Daddy with her new Barbie make-up kit from Aunt Cindy.
Hunter and Grandaddy thought hard over a game of Duke vs Carolina checkers...
...while Leigh and Aunt Cindy had fun with their newly gorgeous nails.

Meanwhile, the guys paraded their musical talent playing Beatles Rock Band, while Emily rested on the couch wondering if she really wants to marry into this.
And it took us all a few double-takes to realize that this sight was just Hunter testing out one of his new magic tricks.

To Nanny's House We Go

After lunch, we piled up the car and headed to Nanny & Grandaddy's house for Christmas 2010, Part 2.

Uncle Billy models his new shirt from Aunt Lynn, while Michael shows Hunter how to hold his new Wii guitar.

Michael enjoyed a big squeeze from his biggest fan, while Aunt Lynn managed to sneak in a good snuggle with Hunter.
A pooped Leigh manages to still look alive in her fancy new dress from Nana & Papa and rockin' new boots from Aunt Susie

Uncle Rusty tells a good story to Daddy and Uncle Billy...
...while Hunter & Leigh enjoy eating at the cousin table.
Good-looking Trent is still good-looking
While we were busy eating & drinking ourselves silly, the snow started falling outside, treating us to the White Christmas we haven't had in over 20 years.

Christmas Wheels

It became very apparent on Christmas morning that Santa Claus had stuffed quite a few pairs of wheels down chimneys the night before.
Camo, sporting his new BMX helmet and bike, was the first to make it outside for a test drive, but Jackie and Hunter were soon to follow.

Even Leigh--not really known for her athleticism--managed to get in the game with big brother's BMX helmet and stylish new roller skates.
And in the midst of all this rolling greatness, Mr. Dave stole the show with the remote helicopter that Grandpa Ken sent.

Merry Christmas!

We were lucky to have Nanny and Grandaddy spend Christmas morning again with us this year.

We started off with Leigh admiring the special girl tree that Santa brought, while Hunter was stoked to find his shiny new electric scooter.

Boxing gloves and American Girl goodies were also big hits.

Nanny went to task unleashing giant Rapunzel from her box, while Grandaddy mixed up some breakfast food for Baby Alive to eat and then poop out.

Ho Ho Ho!

The Burke's Annual Christmas Eve Party has become a tradition we couldn't live without, and it keeps getting better and better. This year, we managed to land a visit from the Big Man himself--Santa Claus from the mall!!
Every pair of eyes was on Mr. Claus as he sat down and stuck his hand in the big red bag.
Leigh made sure that Santa knew where she was in the crowd.
Anna Kate listens intently as Santa Claus explains why it's not a good idea for him to deliver live animals (ie, puppies) on Christmas Day.
Here Santa asks Jackie in her fancy attire if she's dressed for a date
Hunter has high hopes as his name is called

After gift time, Santa graciously sat and smiled with all the kids while the Mommy Paparrazzi went wild.

Baby Addie looking gorgeous in her Santa suit

Lucy wasn't sure she trusted this guy with the fuzzy chin, but she gladly welcomed a snuggle with Miss Karen.
A swashbuckling Robbie contemplates whether or not he should decapitate the reindeer from the staircase.

It doesn't get much better than this.
