Happy Birthday, Aunt Lynn

Last night we all gathered together to celebrate Aunt Lynn's birthday. We jump-started the celebration hanging out by the fire, shooting hoops, and making s'mores for appetizers.

When we couldn't bear the cold any longer, we headed back to Nanny's for birthday dinner and cake.

Surrounded by an abundance of distinguished male role models, Hunter had his share of bear hugs, wrestling moves, beatings, noogies, and wedgies before finally hunkering down with Grandaddy.
We all got a huge charge out of Susie--the Betty White of Burlington--sharing some special time lovin' on Ruby.

Happy Valentine's Day

Our weekend started off with beautiful red roses and a big, bright Valentine's Day balloon from Daddy. Hunter couldn't contain himself after discovering that Daddy's card to Mommy had the word fart in it.

Later that night, we gathered for our special Valentine Dinner. The girls were enamored with pink tulips and new furry friends, while the boys kept busy with Buzz boxing gloves and a Duke basketball. Mr. Bill had a brief--& I do mean brief--moment to enjoy the Olympics before Leigh & Lucy discovered his whereabouts. One of her finer looks, Leigh was dashing in the red satin dress that Miss Elizabeth bought her for her first birthday and the snow boots Nanny bought her at Wal-Mart a few weeks ago.

Cheers to Miss Karen, who treated us to some divine Chicken Piccata and who proudly honored Jackie's request to wear her new High School Musical necklace for the occasion.

Winter Olympics

After all the snow we've had lately, who needs Vancouver? Afterall, we don't need to look any further than our own front yard to see the best of the traditional--& not-so-traditional--winter games.

Anatomy of a Snowman

Delighted to have some soft snow for a change, we hurried out after breakfast to build a snowman.
Unaware of the commitment she was making, Miss Karen stopped by to chat after her morning walk with Ellie.

After some exhausting teamwork with her big brother, Leigh took a rest on Mr. Snow's future torso.
Hoping to have a little more help with our task, we reminded ourselves that "If you build it, they will come." And they did.Once the entire Assembly Crew had arrived, we made serious progress. With the hunchie-tummy-head-work done, Mr. Snowman grew arms, a top hat, and some cool shades.
The facial work, compliments of Harris Teeter, consisted of a blueberry smile and banana nose. Cherry tomatoes rounded out the buttons on his shirt.
Once fully clothed, it was time for photo ops, which even Masson couldn't escape.
