Robin Hood and His Merry Men

The excitement this week centered around the purchase of Hunter's first real bow-&-arrow.
Clearly, Leigh was serious about honing her archery skills as well.
After some beginner lessons, the show moved outside to test things out on the pretend deer in our back yard Sherwood Forest.
It wasn't long before our buddies joined the audience, and Hunter was pleased & proud to show off his new tricks for his own Maid Marian, AKA Jackie.

Sporting his Buzz Lightyear Special Edition archery gloves, Camo was all over discovering this new sport.
Not so impressed by the boys' new toys, Lucy opted to get a little Mommy Lovin' during the archery match.

And before we called it a day, Daddy made sure we got a few good shots of Father & Son drawing back their bows.
One step closer to having a real-life Mini-Me.

Happy Birthday, Mommy!

Tonight we celebrated Mommy's birthday in style, complete with lots o' lard compliments of Harris Teeter. Despite our efforts to get everyone to smile at the same time,  this is the best we could do.

Urban Cowboy

Hunter was completely stoked to take a ride on this mechanical bull at the Barefoot Traders.  Despite his crazy red eyes and bold black horns, the bull stayed pretty tame for the little man, who respectfully declined whenever asked if he wanted to go faster.

Ribs & Fish Food

Every beach vacation requires the occasional no-water fun, so we headed out to Village of the Barefoot Traders one morning for some dry entertainment. After much begging & pleading, Hunter & Bennett agreed to stick their heads in these holes and smile briefly for me.

Feeding the fish and turtles was a nice diversion, although Leigh decided she like Nanny's old bread as much as the fish did.
After withstanding the sauna-like temperature for as long as we could, this happy crew landed at T-Bonz for a nice light lunch.  Much to our dismay, Hunter's new passion for a half-rack of ribs has ushered out his capacity to be fed from the Kids' Menu.
Meanwhile, Leigh continued to prove that all she really needs to have a great time is herself.
But before lunch was finished, we saw the familiar Sucky-Sucky-Pull My Ear that heralds an impending nap.

Fun with Leigh

While Hunter busied himself dodging waves, Leigh entertained Nanny in the pool.
Back at the condo, my 3-yr-old Techie introduced Grandaddy to The Holy iGrail, Mommy's new iPad.

Up, Up, and Away

Thanks to cousin Bennett, Hunter had an opportunity to explore the Big Rides at the local amusement park at Ocean Drive.

Although a little uncertain about the height issue, Hunter survived his first ferris wheel ride without barfing and even managed to smile a few times before it was over.
Next up: the Berry-Go-Round!
The Tilt-A-Whirl was by far the biggest hit of the night.
While I wasn't willing to suspend Hunter by 4 strings above Myrtle Beach, Bennett thought it was big fun.
