Birthday Disability

Although it was quite the drag for Aunt Lynn, Hunter and Leigh were uber-entertained by the Unna Boot and scooter she sported for several weeks after breaking her ankle. And a little disabilty didn't keep us from celebrating Aunt Lynn's birthday in high style!

Hunter thought the motorized scooter was the greatest.

Soft-spoken as always, Leigh sets the stage for a wonderful birthday celebration.

Clearly taking cues from her clean-freak mother, Leigh mopped up Nanny's kitchen after the birthday dinner.

And here, testing out the cash register Mimi bought for her at Target..."Attention, K-Mart Shoppers!"

Fun With Mimi

This weekend, we were all happy as clams to spend some time with Aunt Brenda and Uncle Pete, who were here visiting from Florida. It didn't take the Messick Two long to realize that Aunt Brenda, better known as Mimi, is the funnest aunt you could hope for.

Nanny and Leigh took some time to show us their best ballet moves.
The girls had big fun sharing a Spa Day together, followed by a little shopping.

Entertaining Leigh

Entertaining Leigh at the Great Wolf has little to do with water slides. Rather, we spend our time watching singing squirrels pop out of trees, modeling wolf paws, loving on fake bears, and listening to Yellow Feather sing about our friends in the forest.

Howling Again

I know they say Third Time's A Charm, but Chad and I are officially tired of the Great Wolf. HOWEVER, Hunter loves it better than DisneyWorld, so we found ourselves headed to Concord yet again for a belated 7th birthday celebration.
As usual, great fun was had by all, from measuring up next to the Baby Wolf to giant water slides, to crawling on bunk beds, to funnel cakes by the water. This time was particularly action-packed since it included the company of Sandy, Hunter's Brother-From-Another-Mother.

The Wonder of Ski School

We woke up after the blizzard to an amazing panorama of ice and snow.

After a white-knuckle drive down the ice-covered mountatin, we arrived in full force, ready for Ski School.

The lessons started off a little tentative...

...but soon turned into fun trying to get up from the fallen position, and then even more fun riding on the Magic Carpet to the top of the bunny slope.

And by the end of the day, these never-before skiiers transformed from a face down in the snow stance to No Hands, No Poles, No Fear!!
