The Royal Wedding

Although we were all psyched to watch the Royal Wedding, we weren't excited enough to get up at 5:30 am to catch it live.  With the advent of modern technology in our dish service, however, we were able to DVR the big event and not miss a beat.
Miss Allie thoroughly enjoyed fast-forwarding through all the non-essentials and landing on the important part.

Meanwhile, the girls ooh'ed and aah'ed at Princess Kate's beautiful dress, while Camo cheered on just because life is good.

Easter Best

After about 600 failed attempts, we managed to get a few shots of Easter 2011 that are good enough to be keepers.

We missed our next door crew, who were Hilton Head-bound, but were most happy to have Deane, Mr. Bill, and Miss Karen join us for Easter lunch.

A skeptical Mr. Bill looks on as Miss Karen braces herself for Hunter's big swing.

Easter Morning

The kids were up super-early this morning to check out what the EB had brought.

They were stoked to see the chocolate haul was good, in the form of Dude and Diva Bunny, respectively.

And lest their teeth rot out from too many Cadbury Eggs, a few Sonicare's made their way into the baskets this year.
Don't let Hunter's shell-shocked expression at finding a Bible in his basket fool you into believing he's lost the true meaning of Easter.

Every year, the kids really look forward to finding candy-filled eggs all over Nanny's house. Unbeknownst to them,  the Easter Bunny's helpers, Becca & Bennett, have a ball hiding them on Easter Eve every year.

Easter Eve

We spent Easter Weekend at Nanny & Grandaddy's house, per our tradition. And as usual, Nanny was ready for the kids, armed with umpteen-dozen eggs ready to be dyed and decorated.

Leigh loves Ruby, but not enough to share her ice cream.

We were all amazed at Becca's Easter creations--from this centerpiece to these incredible Easter cupcakes she whipped up. I'm fairly convinced she inherited this talent from me.

Later that night, we did our usual Easter magic, under the direction of Aunt Lynn...who Hunter & Leigh will one day recognize as the real Easter Bunny.

Baking with Becca

We begged poor Becca to help us keep the kids this weekend so I could meet a deadline for Monday. The kids were thrilled with this deal, although it may have cost Becca some serious recuperative time. On Sunday, she entertained the crew by getting them involved in some fancy cupcake-making!

Baseball Lessons

This was one of the more interesting sights in our driveway of late--Hunter teaching Leigh a little baseball.

Hummingbird, Don't Fly Away

Don't feel bad if you can't guess that the object of Cameron's extreme focus...
...is an injured, thirsty hummingbird in an old pizza box.
But with Jackie's nurturing and Hunter's measuring skills, this little guy was feeling ready for the world again in just a few short hours.

Little League Opening

On this very cold Saturday morning in April, we headed out to the ball field to meet Wool E. Bull and hundreds of other families to kick off the 2011 South Durham Little League spring season.

Ever the supportive little sister, Leigh took some time out to smile under the bleachers to satisfy Mommy's compulsive need to capture every life moment on digital film.

Here Hunter smiles big for his baseball card picture.

Go Astros!!
